Perfect TownThere are many guides out there on how to get a perfect town. Most of them are a little over zealous. Picture: Garnat General Rules
Acres (or areas)Your town is broken into 25 equally sized squares called Acres. Each Acre is 16 x 16, where each unit is the size of a tree, flower, hole or a rock. It takes some time, but if you can mark these squares out it is easier to decipher what Pelly (or Phyllis) says about the state of your town. Marking out AcresYou can easily mark out the corners of each acre by dropping patterns on the ground. The X's below show the corners where you should mark out with patterns. Note that markers are repeated for each acre. X..............XX..............X Starting at a top corner of town, mark the corner by dropping a pattern on the ground. Now dig holes in a straight like along the back wall of town. After the 14th hole, drop a pattern on the ground. This is the top of an acre (1 pattern + 14 holes + 1 pattern = 16). For the top of the next acre place another pattern next to the last one, dig 14 holes and place another pattern. This should be repeated down and across until the entire town is mapped. Counting over the river and over cliffs can be difficult, sometimes placing around the entire border of an acre can help. Counting TreesThen for each acre, count the number of trees. If there is a cliff or river through the square, it is easier count each side separately. I print out a copy of my town so this is easier to do, and draw the 5 x 5 squares onto the printout. Keeping the number of trees in each acre up to date helps with where to plant more trees. Note: Some trees may not grow, so remember to subtract trees that fail to grow. Planting TreesTrees can be planted anywhere that has 8 free spaces around it. Free spaces are ground that can be dug or has flowers on it. Below shows a tree, T, and the 8 spaces around it. ... .T. ... It is a good idea to find all the possible fruits (Apples, Cherries, Oranges, Peaches, and Pears) and coconuts before you start planting lots of trees. That way you town will have lots of different fruit spread around town. Remember that coconuts can only be planted near the ocean (but not on the beach) Each acre should have 10 to 19 trees, when all of your acres have this many trees it's time to ask Pelly about the environment. Specific Tree and Flower AmountsTo get a perfect rating, 8 out of your 25 acres must have the following counts while the rest of the acres must be within 6 flowers of the following counts.
